Another year, another Dyfi Enduro…..….Yet again we got lucky with the weather, monsoons on Saturday, and very heavy rain around Machynlleth on Sunday, but none in the Dyfi Forest micro-climate. Not that we needed any more rain, I’m sure the surface water was more than enough for most people.
Again the course held up very well, considering the wet conditions in the weeks leading up to the event. We had carried out some work on the route in the last few months, which, judging by the comments from riders on the day, made the trails even more enjoyable.

Thanks to Karrimor, Motorex, Avid, Continental, RaceFace, Endura, Trek, USE and High 5, for supporting the event and for providing a most generous prize purse. We handed out nearly 65 prizes, with a minimum value of £25 each. Because the Dyfi Enduro is not a race, the prizes were drawn at random, you had equal chance of winning a prize, whether you came first or two hundred and first.

Just as with last years event, we are indebted to the many marshalls and assistants who helped out, directing riders, feeding riders, and making sure no-one got lost in the woods. So again a big thank you to all the people that made the event run so safely and hassle free.

Finally, thanks to all the riders who came and made the event happen, Machynlleth is a long way from most places, so it says a lot about the event, and the terrain that it is held over that so many people came from all over the UK to ride. Just as last year all the post event feedback has been very positive, everyone we spoke to after the ride said it was one of the most enjoyable enduro events they had ridden. The mix of fireroad climbs and singletrack descents helped reduce the risk of congestion, ensuring that the technical sections were fun to ride, no one ended up pushing their bike when they should have been riding.

The rider listing is available below, and it can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet, so you can sort it by time, to see how your time compared to others.

We will also be posting pictures from the event, and, thanks to Michael Wilkens, a topo map of the route.

Pay a visit to www.sportpix.co.uk, they have at least one picture of every rider on the site, you can also buy high quality prints from the site.

Last but not least, we organise this race for you, the riders, if you want to make any suggestions, good, or bad, let rip to, themuddyfools@summitcycles.co.uk
