| Welcome to the website for the Raw Experience Dyfi Enduro. The Raw Experience Dyfi Enduro is a non-competitive long distance mountain bike event happening for the second year on the 9th of May 2004 in Machynlleth West Wales. First off, thanks to all those riders who came and made the first two Raw Dyfi Enduro events possible. From the post event rider feedback the events were judged to be a big success. If you are new to the event, and want to get an idea of what people thought of last years ride, click here As an added incentive to get your entries in early, and therefore make our lives easier we will be giving the first 350 riders a pair of custom made Raw Dyfi enduro cycling socks. Please note that the event HQ has moved to the Bro Dyfi leasure centre, the car park is the same as last year, the new HQ will be signposted, it’s a 2 minute walk away. We have made a few changes to the route to make it a little longer, added an excelent new downhill on smooth(ish!) bed rock and a climb with great views of the surrounding hills. We have also added a cut-off point after the feed station for anyone who is having a bad day, or just want to take an easier way home. This has been included to help with event logistics and get the last 20 or so riders back alittle sooner. To give riders a chance to explore some of the other trails in the
Machynlleth area we will be organising guided rides at 2pm from the
leasure centre on Saturday the 8th of May. To give us an idea of how
many guides we will need please tick the box on the entry form. In order to ensure the smooth running of the ’04 event, we will be limiting entries to 500 riders, entries will be on a first come basis. After the response to previous year’s events, we are expecting a full field, so get those entry forms in the post soon…… It will be one of the most technical courses you are likely to find in an Enduro event. The climbs are all on forest roads, and all the descents are rough singletrack, or one-line double track. It’s probably a good plan to take more than one spare tube. And leave the 1.5’s in the shed. Last year a skinny bloke (Ryan Bevis – Tomac) on a FS bike was fastest overall, but a lot of less skinny people on 5”-6” travel freeride bikes were well up in the overall. |
