The Berghaus Dyfi Enduro is a non-competitive long distance mountain bike event happening for the forth year on the 8th of May 2005 in Machynlleth West Wales.

The 2005 event has gained a new sponsor, with Berghaus’s recent move into cycle clothing we are pleased to welcome the brand as title event sponsor.

Thanks to all those riders who came and made the first the Dyfi Enduro events possible. From the post event rider feedback the events were judged to be a big success. If you are new to the event, and want to get an idea of what people thought of previous years rides, click here.

Please note that the event HQ is the Bro Dyfi leasure centre, the car park is the same as last year, the HQ will be signposted, it’s a 2 minute walk away.

As ever, we have made some changes to the route, keeping it challenging and technical, but most of all fun to ride.

There will be a cut-off point after the feed station for anyone who is running low on energy, or just wants to take an easier way home. This has been included to help with event logistics and get the last 20 or so riders back the finish a little sooner. The new waymarked XC trails in the Dyfi forest are now open, and we will be leading rides in the area on Saturday, if you are interested in exploring the areas trails

To give us an idea of how many guides we will need please tick the box on the entry form.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the ’05 event, we will be limiting entries to 500 riders, entries will be on a first come basis. After the response to previous year’s events, we are expecting a full field, so get those entry forms in the post soon…

The event will be one of the most technical and challenging courses you are likely to find in an Enduro event. The climbs are all on forest roads, and all the descents are rough singletrack, or one-line double track. It’s probably a good plan to take more than one spare tube, Continental will be providing free tube swaps, some marshals and the feed station will have stock of tubes to swap for punctured ones.
