We have a small fleet of Trek X-Caliber 7 mountain bikes available to hire from the shop. This is a very versatile bike, perfect for exploring the local mountain bike trail centre at Nant yr Arian but also great for a recreational cycling about town or along the local Ystwyth Trail or Rheidol Valley Trail.
Included in the price of the bike hire is a cycle helmet and a small pack with bicycle pump, tyre levers and spare inner tube just in case you should get a puncture. We can also supply a loan lock to secure the bikes on request.
A full day hire runs from when the store opening (9.30 week days, 9am Saturday) until 4pm. A 3hr hire can be any 3 hrs during that period.
We offer an optional waiver that covers the bike against crash or accidental damage to the bike. The waiver does not cover against theft and the security of the bike(s) remain the responsibility of the person hiring during the hire period.
We carry bikes in a range of sizes for riders of heights from 5 foot to 6’4″

Hire Terms & Conditions
BEFORE BOOKING VERY IMPORTANT You will need to know the exact height of each person hiring as this is how we calculate correct bike sizing. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE HIRE WITHOUT REFUND ON ANY BIKE WHERE SIZE HAS BEEN SUPPLIED INCORRECTLY. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE RIGHT HEIGHT CATEGORY AND BIKE TYPE AS OFTEN NO ALTERNATIVE MAY BE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY.
Under the terms of our hire agreement, accident and/or crash damage is chargeable to the hirer. We offer an optional damage waiver, which covers the cost of equipment repair as a result of accident and crash damage during the hire period. If you choose not to purchase the waiver then you will be held responsible for the cost of any damage that may occur to the bike whilst it is in your possession. Please note that the waiver specifically does not cover:
- Deliberate or reckless abuse.
- Theft of the bike.
- Incorrect adjustment of the bike by the hirer.
Summit Cycles reserves the right to terminate the hire agreement and take possession of hire bikes, without refund if, in the opinion of company staff, the bikes are being used in a reckless manner or being wilfully abused.
Helmets are included in the bike hire price and must be used at all times.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
We require photo ID (driving license or passport) to be left with us for the duration of the hire period.
Day rental period is from store until 16.00. Bikes returned late will be subject to a late return fee of £15.00 per 1/4 hour.
A 3 hour rental constitutes any 3 hour period of your choosing during the period from store opening until 4pm and will commence from when you collected the bikes.
We do not permit any modification to hire bikes, including the fitting of child seats, child trailers or ‘tag-along’ style children’s trailer bikes.
All hardtail bikes come supplied with flat pedals but we can also fit your own pedals to a rental bike, please let us know at the time of booking and remember to bring them along with you on the day. No extra charge will be incurred, but they must only be fitted by our staff.
Hire Bookings Cancellation Policy
Hire bookings are subject to a 7 day cooling off period in cases where the booking is made more than 14 days prior to the booking date. If a booking is made inside of 14 days from the booking date no cooling off period exists.
Bookings may be cancelled up to 30 days in advance of the booking date and a full refund, store credit or alternative booking date will be offered.
Bookings cancelled at 30 days to 14 days from their booking date are offered the opportunity to re-book on another date or may instead take a store credit to the value of the booking. The store credit can be used against any goods or services offered by Beics Brenin. This store credit must be used within 12 months of the original hire booking date.
When a booking is cancelled inside of the 14 days prior to the booking no refund, re-booking date or store credit alternative is offered.
