The FX 1 Midstep is a versatile and sleek hybrid bike for riding all around town. Its classic stepthrough frame is easier to mount and dismount, and make it perfect to ride for exercise, commuting or fun. You get price-conscious parts that still deliver a big range of speeds, disc brakes that let you stop on a penny and loads of mounts for accessories.

A lightweight aluminium frame with stepthrough geometry that's easier to mount and dismount, mechanical disc brakes for all-weather stopping power. A Shimano drivetrain with eight speeds, so you're never pedalling too hard or too softly, and mounts that make it easy to accessorise your ride.

A better way to produce aluminium
Starting in 2024, we began removing high-emission aluminium from our manufacturing and replacing it with low-emission aluminium made with renewable energy. By October 2025, nearly every alloy bike we make - this one included - had made the switch, driving a major drop in our footprint.

We do not currently offer to ship bikes purchased via our website, these must be collected from our store. If you see a bike that you are interested in and are unable to collect from us then it may still be worth getting in touch with us to explore further options.
Arrangements and order processing times on new bike purchases
Bikes purchased via our website will be made ready for store collection. This can take a few days depending on where the bike is located. Some bikes will need to ship from a supplier but if this is the case the expected lead time for delivery to us will be displayed on our site. We also hold stock at an off-site storage location and transfer can take a day or so. When we have the bike it will be scheduled for assembly and safety checks with one of our CYTEC mechanics. Once this is complete we will send a final confirmation that the bike is ready for collection and you can then visit the store to pick it up.
With bike purchases, a member of our team will usually contact you prior to processing to check sizing and other details. For bikes in our stock the process from order to collection usually takes 3 or 4 working days but can be quicker sometimes or longer if the bike is shipping to us from a supplier. A member of our team will be able to give you more information if required.
Store collection
Once your new bike is ready for collection we will get in touch with you to arrange a convenient time for pickup. Collection is from our store at 65 North Parade, Aberystwyth. When you come to collect we may ask for you to present proof of identity for security reasons. A member of staff will check size and personal adjustments like saddle height and can provide advice on care and service arrangements so please allow a little time for the handover process.
