If you can characterize your life as on-the-go busy or not having enough time we made a bike for you the Turbo Vado 3.0 Step-Through. It's made to accommodate busy lives that are always in movement which is why we took our award-winning pedal-assist technology and accelerated it well into the future.
Beginning with the integrated Specialized 1.2 E motor the Turbo Vado proves itself as the ultimate city bike. The 1.2 E uses the same hardware as our 1.2 motor but it features a tune that prioritizes efficiency. This means less peak torque and maximum output. Of course it still features a near-silent operating design with our Custom Rx Street Tune that takes the output and makes it the most usable for an urban environment. Think of it this way: The more power you put out the more power the motor puts out and this makes accelerations from a standstill at say a traffic light both quick and efficient. The belt driven motor is also smooth silent and free of annoying vibrations. And the max speed? 28mph.
For the Vado 3.0 we developed a custom Specialized U1-460 battery that seamlessly integrates into the frame is lockable and easily removable for simplified charging. In other words there's plenty of juice to take you to and from work a trip to the grocery store or even to that new café on the other side of the city. If you wish to see exactly how far you can go on a charge have a look at our Turbo Range Calculator for more exact estimates.
The new wired Turbo Connect Display (TCD-w) is the best way to view data on your Turbo. It not only displays important ride metrics (speed cadence rider power distance battery level time etc.) it also allows you to connect the latest version of the Mission Control App for an enhanced Turbo experience. With our free app for iOS and Android phones you easily customize motor parameters control your range record/upload rides and perform basic system diagnosis.
To top off all of the innovative features we chose a worry-free spec that features Shimano 9-speed components hydraulic disc brakes racks front/rear lights and fenders.

Getting the right size and fit of bike is crucial to your enjoyment and to your bike working efficiently with your body. At summit cycles we take this job very seriously, that's why we think there is no substitute for the input of a skilled member of staff with years of experience and expertise in matching riders with the right style, size and fit of bike. Here, we think there is no substitute for a store visit. When you visit us we can discuss your needs, how and where you plan to ride and have you sit on and pedal bikes so we can know for sure your bike will be the perfect fit. We have a range of bike fitting and measuring tools on hand to help us to the job and staff who are qualified bike fitting experts who will be able to guide you through the process to ensure you won't be disappointed.
We highly recommend that anyone who is serious about getting the right bike should talk to us and arrange an in-store visit for sizing.
With this in mind there are some situations where learning more about the bike sizing and how individual models are sized by manufacturers can be useful.
Our two main brands Trek and Specialized both offer comprehensive online tools to help with bike selection. These can be useful for general sizing or to confirm expectation where you may have previous experience of a bike of the same model from the brand. We have provided links to both of these here.
If you are looking for confirmation of sizing or are coming to visit us for sizing then it can be helpful for us to know some specific information and measurements in advance. One important measurement is your inseam as this can be very helpful in providing a general guide to sizing and later in the process, allow us to calculate specifics like saddle height settings more accurately. It is a simple measurement to obtain and we have compiled a video showing you how to take the measurement yourself correctly.
You will find comprehensive geometry information provided in the product sections of individual bike listings on manufacturers websites. There are also online sizing tools that can be helpful in guiding you towards the right bike but we still think these are no substitute for a the skills and experience of a trained bike professional and a proper in-store sizing and fitting and our manufacturers still all recommend an in store sizing/fitting consultation is the best way to make sure your new bike is the correct fit for you.
If you would like to know more or need further help and advice on selecting the right size bike then please get in touch. You can visit us in store or contact us via phone or email
